In addition to the basic fee, a fee of EUR 1.33/m3 + EUR 0.32 (VAT 24%) = EUR 1.65/m3 will be charged for temporary water, measured with a temporary water meter or according to the estimated use. As of September 1, 2024, VAT will increase from 24% to 25,5%. If a fire hydrant meter has been damaged during use, the repair costs of the meter and the final readings of the meter plus 100 m3 as a usage fee will be invoiced.

Connection fee

A connection fee will be charged when a new building is connected to the water supply and/or sewer network. The amount of the fee is dependent on the type of the property and permitted building volume. The connection fee is charged according to the currently valid price list at the time of conclusion of the water agreement. Value added tax will be added to the price (24 %). As of September 1, 2024, VAT will increase from 24% to 25,5%.

For instance, the connection fee of a detached house under 250 m2 is EUR 5 520 + VAT 24% = EUR 6 844,80. There is a calculator for calculating the average connection fee available on the Tampere Water website. Calculators are currently only available in Finnish. In addition to the connection fee, the property owner is required to cover the cost of building the service pipes.

  • If service pipes for the plot at the boundary of the plot have not been built in conjunction with new construction projects, the property owner can have them built by Tampere Water based on a quote or by another contractor.

    Plot connections are constructed according to the written, approved offers. This includes labor, material, general, and storage costs.

    Excavation work for water and sewer pipes will be carried out by the contractor hired by the builder.

    Tampere Water will connect the property to the core network and the water supply system in the property and invoice the work.

    The construction price of the plot water pipe includes: a tapping saddle/T-branch, valve, valve cover, 30 meters of water pipe, water meter fittings, water meter, and installation work (4–8 hours). The relocation of the water pipe within the property to the water meter is not included in the rate.

    The construction price of the sprinkler pipe includes: a T-branch, 3 valves, valve covers, 30 meters of water pipe, connection fittings, and installation work (8–12 hours).

  • It must be taken into account that the excavation work for the water and sewer pipes on the plot will be carried out by the contractor of the developer.
